Integration of Mixed-Integer Nonlinear Program and Project Management Tool to Support Sustainable Cost-Optimal Construction Scheduling

This paper presents the integration of mixed-integer nonlinear program (MINLP) and project management tool (PMT) to support sustainable cost-optimal construction scheduling. An integrated structure a high-level system for exact optimization PMT was created. To ensure data compatibility between automate process obtaining schedule, transformation (DTT) developed within spreadsheet application. The suggested can determine: (i) an optimal schedule with associated network diagram Gantt chart in continuous or discrete time units; (ii) critical non-critical activities, including their early start, late finish, finish along total free slack times; (iii) minimum cost allocation direct indirect costs. provides functionalities such as: MINLP be updated, schedules re-optimized; saved as baseline track changes; different algorithms engaged whereby switching them does not require model (iv) used task completion optimized schedule; (v) calendar settings changed; (vi) visual reports generated efficient management. Results scheduling are given conventional environment, which raises possibility that proposed will more widely practice. Integration allows each software what it initially designed. Their combination leads additional information features would significantly difficult achieve if separately. Application examples show advantages approach.
